WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Todd Decker, winner of the inaugural BVA

‘The Book Video Awards are an excellent opportunity to help film makers produce creative and innovative work from little to no visual content. Thank you to the judges for selecting my entry as the winner, I really enjoyed the process and look forward to seeing this competition expand.’

Nick Earls, author of THE TRUE STORY OF BUTTERFISH

‘There’s some striking film-making talent on show here from these finalists. I’m glad I didn’t have to pick a winner. I can see why Todd’s trailer caught the judges’ attention though. There’s a clear vision behind it, and it’s neatly executed and has a tone that works well for the book. If I hadn’t spent years writing the book, I’m pretty sure it’d make me want to read it.’

Bruce Beresford

‘Overall standard is very high. Every trailer is well done!!!’

Margaret Pomeranz

‘A lovely initiative which has produced some imaginative and well-crafted work’

Brett Osmond, Marketing and Publicity Director of Random House Australia

‘We were very impressed with the high standard of film making skills demonstrated in this year’s award. Using a visual medium is a great way to promote books and reading and we look forward to seeing what next year’s talented film makers produce.’
